In the spring of 2021, Along.org, a research-based, free-to-use platform that helps teachers reach their students, was preparing to launch. The Along team realized it was critical for teachers to see the student experience during onboarding to appreciate the platform's value proposition fully. In addition, teachers were inundated with new teaching tools during COVID, so the team wanted the onboarding to be as easy to understand as possible. Finally, these videos would be most customers' first interaction with the Along brand, so nailing the brand voice and tone was critical.
To achieve these goals, Along partnered with RLP media to create a new onboarding video series. The project included the creation of multiple videos that would be placed in product.
The Work:
In order to keep the video's style consistent with the fantastic brand design work already done by the team at IDEO, we opted to film on green-screen. Green screen would allow us to shoot plates aligned with the brand aesthetic and utilize the rest of the brand materials throughout the videos. In addition since this was the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, green-screen allowed us to limit our crew size and adhere to CDC's health and safety guidelines.
